I’ve been reading my way through the Stormlight Archives and I haven’t wanted to draw a book this much since the Lord of the Rings! I spent some of my off time today painting the Stormfather

I’m so excited to share these brushes with you I can’t even handle it! There’s a little something for everyone: watercolors with variable wet edges based on pressure, old markers, and most notably GOUACHE! These gouache brushes are something else. Adjustable color variation based on stroke and pencil pressure. Opaque and soft glazes. Details and dry brushes! Whooeee!

I don’t often work in gouache but I have such insane respect for those of you who do and these brushes are for you! So if I can figure out how to make this picture in a day, I can ONLY imagine the amazing things you’ll create. Don’t forget to tag #vivibrush when you post your creations.

instagram sucks now (the app not you guys, I love all of you!) so I’ve decided to just lean into the dwindling engagement and post less curated content on here (something I’ve always wanted to do) like noodlings, experiments, and not quite finished polished things.

realized I never posted this along with my other quarantine thoughts drawings last year. but somehow we’ve come sort of full circle and this drawing feels to me a little bit like the first trip out the door to meet other vaccinated friends in person post vaccination 😅
