beware of the haunted pumpkin patch, #inktober 15! on my way home now after a short few days in the big apple. I’ll be back home just in time to see the leaves change, and to put out our big ol’ pumpkins on the porch

just a quick little haunted mansion today since I’m on the road (at the airport for one of the first flights since the pandemic started - zoinks!) #inktober 13!

it’s one of my absolute favorites, not just for halloween. I had fun trying to infuse a little bit of color into the drawing even though the movie is in black and white. also a great challenge in likenesses. #inktober day 11, what KNOCKERS!

the mirror was originally a portrait so if you look very closely you can still see the afterimage of a ghostly hand. decided it needed to be more simple than that for this drawing.

I drew this listening to an episode of ‘real life ghost stories’ that included a lot of listener tales that talked about the comfort they got from having a supernatural experience where it seemed like a loved one was trying to get in touch from beyond. I think that definitely influenced this drawing a bit.

I’ve been very ready to admit when I didn’t think a drawing worked out so I’m just gonna add that I think #inktober 10 is one of my favorites so far

I’d been meaning to try out this color palette for a while, though I’m really usually not a pink person at all. I really like these pastels, but the gentle colors definitely made this a little less creepy than I had intended it to be. so here’s a friendly little breather from the scaries for #inktober day 9. it makes me want to go out and find a swing set!

so I’ve noticed recently one of my major sticking points is overworking things. since I’m mainly doing #inktober to work through my weaknesses, I challenged myself to make something truly and impossibly simple. it’s just dracula. a teeny tiny dracula. swipe to see my doodles while I waited for paint to dry (which took ridiculously long), and to see just how wee dracula is
.
so what do we think? too simple or just right?
